2022 Ford Edge Scheduled Maintenance

Congratulations, you have made that all important decision on a brand new vehicle and decided to bring home a 2022 Ford Edge from Klaben Ford Warren. Getting your vehicle inspected on a regular basis and what that looks like at the 30, 60, and 90,000 mile mark is not only important, it's essential. That is because these inspections can make a substantial difference when it comes to keeping your new 2022 Ford Edge on the road longer and covered by your factory warranty for the full duration of its outlined term. At Klaben Ford Warren, our Certified Ford Service Center and trained service technicians are here to help guide you through the ins and outs of your warranty periods all the way from initial purchase until you decide to trade in or purchase a new vehicle at some point in the future.

Getting to Know Your New Ford Edge’s 30,000 Mile Scheduled Maintenance

The first in the three major vehicle checkups for continued warranty coverage, the 30,000-mile service is the first at which the focus will be on a few of the most common parts to wear out and need to be replaced, such as air filters and brake pads, and tires can be rotated to improve wear and life expectancy. However, if your Edge is being driven in an especially hard or extreme environment, there is a greater chance that more of these items will need to be addressed.

  • Change oil and replace oil filter
  • Install Premium Engine Treatment
  • Rotate and inspect tires
  • Perform multi-point inspection
  • Check wheel end play and turning noise
  • Inspect automatic transmission fluid level
  • Inspect brake pads/shoes/rotors/drums
  • Inspect brake lines and hoses
  • Inspect parking brake system
  • Perform fuel injection/throttle body service and install injector cleaner
  • Top off fluids
  • Check and adjust tire pressure
  • Inspect cooling system and hoses
  • Replace Engine Air Filter
  • Replace cabin air filter (if equipped, add additional charge)
  • Replace climate controlled seat filters (if equipped, at additional charge)
  • Inspect and lubricate all non-sealed steering linkage, ball joints, suspension joints, half shafts, and u-joints
  • Service Front and Rear Brakes
  • Inspect complete exhaust system and heat shields
  • Perform Battery Service

Getting to Know Your New Ford Edge’s 60,000 Mile Scheduled Maintenance

The second major milestone for warranty checkups or inspections is the 60,000-mile service. At this service, it is likely that your Ford Edge will have had items such as spark plugs, brake pads, oil, air, and cabin filters and fluids changed at least once, multiple times in the case of the oil system. At this visit, the focus will be on items that display unusual wear patterns due to poor fit or excess use. If these items are identified, they must be dealt with at this point to prevent further damage. Failure to do so in systems such as the drivetrain, steering column, and other essential systems could cause damage resulting in the need for major repairs.

Getting to Know Your New Ford Edge’s 90,000 Mile Scheduled Maintenance

The 90,000-mile service on your Ford Edge is the last of the three major checkups and gives you an accurate depiction of the overall health of your vehicle beyond the warranty period. At this point, fluids have been changed, flushed, and monitored throughout the vehicle's life and any ongoing issues have been identified and repaired. At this appointment, the transmission will be thoroughly inspected, it will be flushed, and its fluid will be changed if it has not been done so in previous checkups. While the 90k inspection is your last required checkup, it's important to maintain proper preventative maintenance and inspections throughout the life of your vehicle.
